Palmers Kiss. Two hands touch....somewhere in a dream.

Darkness surrounds her
Hiding in a room three doors down a narrow hallway.
She sits on the floor
Trying to inch her way into the darkest corner.
If only she could slink under the floor boards
-Where the dark hardwood meets the stubborn wall.

She backs herself up, hands groping the panels,
Eyes locked on the door.
Voices down the hall make their way
Passing her hiding place,
-Their mumblings becoming a soft murmur.

The dark corner grows near,
And she begins to fill the pit of her stomach relax.
Her hand reaches out one last time,
Grope, grope, grope, touch.
Flesh meets flesh and she feels another hand.

Her stomach flips in on itself and she turns to scream,
Startled by the air rising to her throat,
The other hand reaches out and takes her face.
It is familiar and something she may have dreamt.
Her hot breath is cut off by lips softly hovering above her own.

A soft rush of air, “Shhh” fills the tiny room.
His voice seems to echo between the floorboards
and the folds of her memory.
She has been here before.

His lips close in over hers,
Her face melting into his hand.
Long fingers holding the curve of her jaw,
Fingertips grazing her hair.
Damp air fills the gaps between tongue and teeth.

Fate has led them here.
To a moment within a dark hiding place.
Where only they knew the other might be
-Perhaps it was a dream that told them.
Where hands would finally touch hearts,
In a Palmer’s kiss and sweet lovers embrace.
